In class today we discussed how the minimum wage for Indonesians is now $4.00 but the Nike owners in Indonesia are using military force to make the workers sign something allowing them to be legally paid $3.70 dollars. To stop this madness in Indonesia we can all stop buying Nike products and reducing their income. by cutting the pay for these workers Nike only saves 52,000 dollars. last year, their total income was about 2.5 billion dollars. 52,000 dollars makes no difference to Nike's high standards. Yet it makes a huge difference to the factory workers in Indonesia.
So why does Nike do it?
